@ Flew Manila-Kalibo with JE as my supercompanion! As in sha nag-asikaso ng lahat... feeling ko may magulang akong kasama! Haha, thanks JE! (Tin, Brail, Sheena, Carly, Trisha, Jojo booked an earlier flight, MLA-Caticlan, while Roni, Dianne, RJ had a later flight, MLA-Caticlan also)
@ Arrived at Kalibo International Airport after 1 hour ++ due to some delay. Then took a 1.5 hour-sleepy van ride to Caticlan.
@ Waited for the third batch (Roni et. al.) at Caticlan only to learn they had some issues because Diane's baggage GOT LOST! Hassle.
@ Nauna na kami. Caticlan-Boracay Island 15 min-boat ride. Trike to D'Mall. Chill muna sa villa ng official sponsor naming si Sheena. Yehey! At Fairways & Blue Water Country Club.
@ Dinner at Bite Club... I ordered a bite club burger with blue cheese that had the right smoke and tang!
@ Panic shopping si Dianne. Underwear, underwear, underwear.
@ Umulan!
@ Swimming sa resort pool na lang instead of the beach! |

| | Dinner at Manos Greek Taverna, "recollection" at Starbucks & Lexie's, Tagaytay breakfast ala A1, Indian lunch at Taj! Then ATC to watch You Changed My Life on its first day! Ash Wednesday Mass at St. Jerome's.

| | Effort! Went from UST to Makati after class just to get a taste of yummy, comforting dessert. I'm loving their Chicken Spinach Lasagna (and Lexie too I guess!), so it's a new favorite. Also tried their frozen desserts, like the Toblerone Torte and Mango Cream Torte or something, and the luscious Strawberry cheesecake. :-)

| | It was dinner at Sala Bistro (Greenbelt 3), Wot's surprise cakes (emphasis on the S), the eternal search for a bar on a Thursday night (Temple? Ascend?), and the birthday girl's need for spontaneity that made our night like a blur!
Started off the night with dinner at Sala with Wot, Ann, Faye, and Bon. Exchange gift and cake-blowing session after!
Went to Temple, but thought it was too early. So... went to the Fort. But we immediately changed our mind the moment we got there so we headed to Lily's place. Spent two? three? hours waiting for the tired nurse to bathe. Photo-op galore. Then we headed out to look for a bar only to find out that all the bars were closed already!
Anyway... to cut it short, we ended our night with a sheesha! Wot's birthday request! Finally found a sheesha place at Malate's Shawarma Snack Center by 4am! Happy Birthday Wot! :-) |
| | The past few weekends have been kitchen projects for me. Nov 15 weekend was pizza, pesto, carbonara, and cheesecake fix! Na-miss ko kasi preschool days ko, where we made mini-pizzas out of English muffin halves. Hehe. Pero this time I made my own dough with the superenergy-consuming kneading! I swear I made my biceps sore. Hindi nga lang ako marunong mag-spin ng dough sa air :-D
There, I got my trusty camera all flour-y and greasy with taking pictures in between! :-)

Pizza: Pepperoni + ground pork (mommy doesn't eat beef kasi) + black olives + mushrooms + green bell pepper + white onion + mozzarella + cheddar + parmesan cheese + plus my supersecret tomato sauce haha + mommy's dough recipe. I have to be careful about overbaking the dough!
Chicken Pesto: spaghetti + olive oil + Filippo pesto + breaded chicken + parmesan
"Twisted" (R) Carbonara: colored rotini + whipped cream + eggs + butter + bacon + mushrooms + lotsa garlic + parmesan. Rotini was just an experiment, it really should be used for thinner sauces :-) Love this recipe 'cause it's so easy and it takes only 10 minutes!
Blueberry Cheesecake: (makeshift ito from last weekend's Blueberry Muffins tira-tira ingredients!) [breadcrumbs + butter + brown sugar] (as substitute for graham crust) + whipped Philadelphia cream cheese + sugar + blueberries in syrup
Panel of judges: Mommy, Daddy, Eric :-) (No bias?)

Fashion show featuring hip and fab couture from young designers. Live music from Up Dharma Down, Rico Blanco, Miguel Escueta, DJ Mars Miranda, Nyctinasty, Sleepwalk Circus, and Musical O. Plus a loot bag filled with freebies from Bayo, Swatch, The Body Shop, Bench, etc! Haha.

| | Think of it as rummaging thru and cramping all your (residual?) knowledge from three years of med schooling into three days demanding of courage, skill, and endurance. Yeah! Nothing beats the drama in witnessing the real deal in the operating room, and attending to patients, hands-on, in the recovery room. That's what our Sapang Palay mission was all about.
Four straight days of community projects! Sept 19-21: Medical Missions, Inc (MMI) Major Medical Mission in Sapang, Palay, Bulacan. Also included in this album is our Sept 22 Family-Community Pediatrics seminar in Earnshaw, Sampaloc, Manila. Very tiring but so worth it! :-)
